NEW BLOCK HOSTEL

The hostel is a three storeyed building colored in pink. Its surrounded by Glass and Ceramic Research Institute, H-block hostel, New PG Hostel and Old PG hostel. The Open Air Theatre (OAT) and parts of JU professors' quarters are visible from the terrace.

About 55 boarders and couple of guests stay here. There is a spacious dining hall and kitchen in the ground floor where lunch and dinner are served. Every month, two of the students take the responsibility of managing the mess. He decides the menu, shops appropriate items and hands over to the mess staff. University appointed staff  takes care of cooking and serving in the dining hall.

There are 28 rooms. Some are not for staying, e.g. room number 1 is guest room, 8 is common room. There is no room number 13, instead it is 13A! Most of the rooms are for two people. However, room no. 5 is for five. Generally, freshly come, first year students stay there.

There is a canteen just beside the hostel where most of the people have their breakfast and snacks.
